Wikipedia Trails: From Draupadi to Drona

Draupadi

I read a little more about Draupadi after watching the epified videos this week and was led to the article on the Upapandavas.

Draupadi in Virata's palace, by Raja Ravi Varma (Web Source)

Upapandavas
The Upapandavas were the five sons that Draupadi had by each of the five Pandava brothers she married. They were killed in battle by Ashwatthama.

Ashwatthama
Ashwatthama was the son of Drona.

Drona
Drona was the teacher for most of the key players in the Kurukshetra War.

  1. Hi Christen! I am so glad you did a Wikipedia Trails browsing through the interconnected characters of the epic! I can lose hours doing that, ha ha. Anyway, it's not really relevant to your Storybook so you probably wouldn't choose this as a reading now but maybe in the future you would want to read this BEAUTIFUL novel by Chitra Divakaruni which tells the whole Mahabharata story by Draupadi in first-person; it really is fantastic: Palace of Illusions. She's working now on a novel about Sita!
